alo alo!

jus did my virgin dive at dayang last weekend!!!
had quite the time of my life. Nice people, nice food, nice place and of cos, awesome dives! (literally eat, sleep, dive!)
think i'm going to make diving part of my life, if cost permits. haha.

ok i drifted. actually wanted to ask a few questions regarding diving for a down-to-earth schooling singaporean like myself.

1.   I have heard bout Liveaboard.
How can I make such an arrangement, say to Tioman? Thru agencies?
If yes, is there agencies that you divers recommend?

2.   If I just want to have a quick weekend getaway dive, say at Dayang or....whereever is near.
Any good but relatively cheap dive locations to recommend?
      Go thru agencies as well?

3.  Erm...okay can't really rem what else to ask. But anyway, 2 trips i will definitely make in the future; Sipadan    and    Maldives.  I know the cost isquite scary, around S$1.5k?

Well I don't care, I love this life of mine too much to care too much bout money.
Any good agencies you divers know? I want to at least make the money i spent well worth :)

haha okay that's about all, hope you guys can help this poor guy who still wants to enjoy life.
If you don't mind, i would gladly read ur reply at zentan@gmail.com too!!!

PS: Don't tell me to study harder pls =)

i understand you have just completed your virgin dives and am all excited to dive more. Diving is addictive as it puts you in a world of your own. i have done more than 250 dives in the last 4 years alone and I still cannot get enough of it.

My 2 cents advice.

You are new and do treat diving cautiously. I would not recommend you to do any LOB first as they can go to dive sites that may be not suitable for new divers. Also Sipadan should be avoided until you have done at least 25 dives as there are some sites with strong currents.

The nearest dive destination for you would be in Tioman and there are some budget accommodation and it generally cost about RM60-70 for a boat dive.

Other places that are better are located further up like Tenggol, redang and perhentian. Dayang is good but I feel that it caters for new divers and mainly divers from Singapore because you can even do up to 7 dives a day. This can be dangerous and safety is not the prime concern of most dive shops or operators there.

Hihi, I jz finish my open water test from Sallang, it was the most wonderful trip for my dive team bcos we saw 2 whaleshark over there, the big 1 was about 5m-6m, the small 1 was about 3m-4m, they jz swim around me during my fisrt open water dive training. And the shore dive there also very unforgetable, 1st time holding nudibranch on my hand and swim together with a baby hawksbill sea turtle. I'll never forget my 1st dive and diving will sure become part of my life from now on.
