Hi there,

If you compare the both i feel there is pros and cons in both.

Firstly the dive comp runs on battery so if you didnt check your dive comp and it fails you then it will be a problem.

secondly, the dive comp can give you a more accurate bottom time compared to the dive table because it can calculate your dive depth as you dive and allows you to get the most out of your dive so if you go for big trips or more costly trips you can dive more with the dive comp due to the fact that you dont need to calculate your BT and surface interval with a traditional dive table.

thirdly, dive comp is expensive if you get the ones which packs in alot of features... haa..

just my humble opinion.

I'm carrying both on every dive. Analog gauges for back up and dive comp to give me other info esp my NDL. For convenience, I always look at my Suunto. I believed the dive comp would be more accurate.
