Sipadan "Drop Off"

Well, it seems it  that the famous Sipidan will not be spared from *disaster -man made . By the way, if you  are familiar  of the site -drop off site , the name certainly  lives help to its reputation !

 

MALAYSIA BOLEH !

 

 * barge from unknown destroy corals and all at Sipadan .

man this is real sad.... hmm i think what we need to do now is replanting...suggest that any divers who goes for dive trip at sipadan to take at least 1 dive to replant some corals...

suggest that the guys over there to pursue the case and responsible of the barge....

One Westerner say : OMG what disaster !

One Asian say : Ah ..its a small problem , everything ok ,pls sign up for tour .Corals can be restore .

So anyone been to Sipadan after what happened? How's diving condition around the affected area now? Is Barracuda Point anyway affected?

........hope you are not the idiot who is trying to help ' cover up ' the barge incident and hopefully ,try  to o gain some 'extra points' from the relevant authorities . For what ?  Leave it to you guys to think about .

Has the dust settled yet? The initial emotional report by the Ferraris stirred things up for sure, which no doubt needed to be done, as everyone involved with diving in the area was rather shocked that there may be plans to build on Sipadan so soon after all the resorts were told to leave. Now what will happen there? That is more important than the damage caused by this barge...

The damaged area is significant, but not huge. Certainly noticeable if you want to go and look for it, but not really visible if you are diving - the damage is all on shallow areas near the beach. Damage is nowhere near Barracuda point. I had an email from Alex Mustard, photographer who was there at the time of the damage. He said the same thing. If you dive along the wall and were not looking for damage, you would not see any. One staff member from Dive The World was there just last week and did not notice any damage during dives. And I have heard no negative comments from customers about this either.

So I work for a dive travel agent selling Sipadan, this (in the aftermath) led to some people on forums saying "oh, you're just saying that because....."
