They have been running their forum for a very long time and have been holding FINS diver night for donkey years already. All these activity have earned them quite a number of loyal followers. especially the old birds. while asian diver was brought over only recently by mediacorp and just have their first diver night "surface interval" last year. So asian diver would need a while to attract the divers to the forum, In order for the forum to thrive, asian diver must convert the old birds to come over. This can be done by giving old birds more incentive and treats. Old birds are the ones with vast experience behind them and would be the ones giving the intelligent answers. Without them to answer questions being posted. The forum would die, who would want to visit a forum where you can only find question or stupid answer. Fins got a lot of old bird and techie answering all the questions (that's the main reason)    Report

But hard to get old bird flying over here ,just like you can't teach old dogs new tricks .To me I think Asian Diver should go for young  birds leave the old birds with their 'arrogance' on the other side. Diver forum should consist all types of divers be it experience ,  in experience (the new bird) , or tech divers . Just to add ,we will have  stupid question , stupid answer , and all . That's what forum is all about. Otherwise , we get an exclusive of old birds telling tales   .( no doubt they provide important info.actually not most of the  time). Well..in my opinion , I feel more and more clever young birds divers are around . Instructors are getting younger by the days.Good for them. No denying they have a sharper mind and healthier physical body.   Well ..Old birds ..go finish your beer and go to bed early . Me old bird too.        Report

01-25-2006, 2:39 PM wlee76 Joined on:09-22-2005 Posts 17 Re: Asian Diver VS FINS Forum participation .. hahaha i agree with you that some old bird can be arrogant and new bird would inject new energy But if you cannot get any intelligent answer to your question, after a while you will not even bother to access it. because you know it's all crap inside. i think the problem this forum has now is it lack enough support from old birds to kick start the Q & A if you are a new bird and you access the forum and found that it is empty, what is there to attract you back knowing that you can't find what you need      Report

The secret formula  ..well ASIADIVER  is back to you !.   P/S. a clue for Asian Diver  = 'commited effort'.  Just a 1 cents opinion.      Report
