My personal real experience with Irresponsible Instructor.
Instructor name start with M, from A dive shop singapore.

No problem with his teaching and dive trip. But he have Irresponsible attitude after sales. No follow up on dive log and dive cert. He keep telling me busy.. and drag for few month then give me dive log details. After getting dive log details he missing again. Called many times but no answer, sms and email no reply.

After dragging for 6months still waiting for my dive cert.

..maybe he need to re test you or you are 'under probation '. Just kidding !  You can always check with the respective dive agency directly.  Anyway , a C Card is all you need .And go for more courses that's really essential.

By right Dive log should be done after every dive. If not by the end of the day all dive should be logged. Did he ask you all to log your dive. If not he didn't do his job.

As for the cert, Did you clear everything? If not he could be holding back your card until you clear them.

If yes, first check whether the document have been submitted to the asia pacific HQ for processing and when it is submitted. If yes, then it is not the instructor fault but HQ problem and for this case there is nothing he can do but email them and wait. (happen to my instructor card renewal before)

If not, then he is not doing his job. You can try emailing the HQ direct to check for your status

Long wait times for c-cards seem to be the norm in Asia Pacific.

However, as an instructor, I must remind you that your dive log is YOUR responsibility. It is your instructor's job to ensure you monitor your dive profile, then log that profile after your dive. It is not your instructor's job to plan your dive and certainly not to log your dive.

As I see it, your instructor did a lousy job with you not because he didn't fill out your log book but because he didn't get across to you that it's your responsibility to do so.
