Hey, a friend of mine went diving in Tioman just last week and sighted a 6m whaleshark! Isn't that fantastic? I want to see one too! My first and only whaleshark sighting was a 2m baby in Bohol, Philippines.

Hi All,

luckily monsoon is not everywere - there are some quite reasonable dive oportunities in Thailand. To give an example you can go for a livabourd to the Similan Islands or just hang around at Phuket or Phi Phi islands and go for some day trips - not bad at all. Just check it out, it's defenetely woth it.

Hi Kit. Good luck on your trip. But it will be great if you can tell us about the stages of the Marina construction going on at Tekek . Hope it does not affect your trip by waking up looking  at "working barges " instead beautiful serene view of the sea ,  fishing boat in sleep mood.!

Hi DiverYap,

I think the only Dive site in Singapore will be at Pulau Hantu (Southern Island), I had my Open Water Certification there and just returned from my Advanced Open Water Certification Course in Tioman.

There was really a great difference in terms of the dive environment and I must say Tioman is really a beautiful place to dive.  Was supposed to stay in Salang but due to no space, had to stay at Ayer Batang.  Did not get to see any white tip sharks but there were lots of Clown Fish (Nemo) there.

Regards,

Brainy

Hi to all Divers,

We just came back from tioman Island. The water is a bit choppy. We manage to saw 5 black tip reef shark each about 5 foot schooling around us and we also manage to capture them in our camera video. A bit frightening in the begining but that was a good experience. I thing too much discovery and animal planet channel at home. Dive site at Renggis. We also saw a big moral Eel and i mean a big one. Dive site at Renggis about 12 metre deep.

School of barracuda, hundreds of them was found at Tumuk dive site. Variety of nudi branch was found actively at this site and of course clown fish. Another good dive site.

Our last dive was at Pirate Reef. Visibility was bad but we manage to saw variety of lion fish and scorpion fish at the wreck. Well sting ray was quite big and we also saw a crocodile eel i think. (need to check the bible). Malaysia goverment have put another 70 concrete for coral near pirate reef previously 11. Hopefully corals will grow in the coming years.

Well the construction at marina did not do much damages to others dive site. Its still the best and budget dive site to me when i want to have a good weekend away from the city.

Regards to all divers and asiandiver

Hallo everyone

I just took my OW last year May. I had it at Redang. Was indeed a nice place. Still missed that island Lolz.

Remember!!! Never take heavy meal or full stomach b4 your next dive. But I guess the fishes are very delight to see so many "food"...Lolz

Hi nakeddiver,

Well we plan to go Pulau Aur in Mid June and Phuket in Mid August. for Tioman Island maybe in Mid Oct.

The construction did not does much damage to the coral except the construction site. The rest of the dive site looks good except the visibility is a bit bad, i think due to weather. But is still a island worth of its beauty. For divers its still a dive site to learn from aqs you will never know what you will see (unexpected). For me, I will still stick to my books, look for local master dive master to see experience the site.

Believe it or not. Renggis is the best dive site. although is only 12 to 18 metres. you will experience enviroment at different time. I always request for this dive site when i go to Tioman Island.

Best Regards

Kit, Eelin and buddy.
