MOVIES which involves DIVING
Reply Quote

it's me again! :P

there have been movies which featured diving here and there, and some of the movies were advertised on AD. I jus need an opinon on the two movies that i'm dying to watch!

1) The Cave

2) Into The Blue

i know these movies have opened in sing, but i'm stuck in aust, and these movies will open towards the end of the year. anyone have any comments on them? ratings would be good too! :P

or does anyone know if there will b any new movies coming out with diving as well?

p/s: There was a docu movie called the "Deep Blue". It featured here in Aust last year. i'm not sure if it opened in SG, but it's a super good docu.

I haven't seen Into the Blue yet, but I enjoyed The Cave. It's a good old fashioned sci-fi adventure flick. Just ignore some of the blatant diving errors.

E.g. they're supposed to be on CC re-breathers, but some of them are leaking bubbles LOL.

Another e.g. they don't have com systems on, but they manage to carry on full-on conversations and arguments with regulators in their mouths.

This one I love: they disassemble their rebreathers and use the cylinders as open circuit scuba gear. So some of them are breathing air, others breathing pure O2. I shudder to think of their PPO2...well, must've been OK since no one appeared to tox out on pure O2 while diving waaaay below 20 feet. LOL

Like I said, it's not a documentary, so enjoy it for what it is: an entertaining movie. Think Alien meets Predator underwater. :)

sounds good. any movie with eye candy in it deserves our attention. Stick out tongue [:P] i've gotta find some time to catch that in the theatre: i'm sure it'll look better on the big screen than on my sad little TV at home.

another movie that i've been trying to catch is the latest IMAX movie, Ocean Men. it's a documentary on the rivalry between the two freediving legends Pipin Ferreras and the super hot Umberto Pelizzari. check it out at http://www.ocean.com/film.asp?resourceid=97&catid=51&locationid=3
