I'm a Scuba Pro twinjet fin user

It's my first pair of fins and I've never switched... anyone did and found a better pair of fins?

I don't have strong legs and find that using Jetfins really made me consume more air! Surprise [:O]

Hi,

I have recently purchased a pair of force fins pro and I am very excited about this fins even they are not very comfortable in my opinion. But everytime when diving in some currents and I am comparing myself to other divers I have the feeling that the force fins are really doing a great job - they are indeed giving me a strong thrust forward. The same on the surface. If you are swimming backwards and start some moderate kicking - you really feel the power unleashed by these fins.

So far my positive impresions about these fins. But I also would like to share some negative experience I have collected so far. As mentioned earlier the fins are not very comfortable. After a couple of dives my joint in my feet starts hurting a bit and I find the fitting of the fin to your feet is not perfect (think the fins were developed by using them with light military-boots). I also become quite easily cramps on the surface, specially when still verticaly in the water.

But anyway - it's all a matter of taste and compromises. I prefere having a fin giving me enought thrust in some currents then having a "weaker" fin with much more comfort.

I've used different types of fins, and presently with the twin jets, technically speaking i feel that it's a different finning method to make the fins effective, for the jet fins to work you have to use long and firm finning which is good to fight currents and to do 120km/h underwater.... :-) For the twin jet you have to use small kick cycles to be effective, so if you try to fin the twin jet like the jet fins, you'll find you are getting no where, correct finning is the key to a good fins. well also to your own personal liking and thats most important i supposed. I am most happy with my twin jets as i can control my speed and directional change better. As for going against currents... well i prefer to...... drift. Wink [;)]

Hi Alex,

Being a former Scubapro Twin Jet user, I made the switch to Mares Volo Power fins since, in my opinion, they give me the best of both worlds....thrust on-demand and a very comfortable fit (the ABS buckles rule!). I had the Twin Jets (grey) for about a year and was very happy with them until I they failed to deliver on one deep dive....Line descent into the blue where the reef top is visible only at around 70ft. I had to crawl against the current to see the passing pelagics. Did the same site with similar conditions using the Volos and had no problems....still keep the jets for house reef dives though.
