Hi there,

looking for kakis to go to lembeh straits at the end of the year. Around early to mid december. Looking to stay at Sulawesi Dive Quest on Lembeh island cos it's cheaper. Anybody interested or are already going up? Maybe can tag along for those who are already going up?

Cheers and happy diving,

Alvin

Hi Alvin,

NTU dive committee is organising a 6-8 days(tentative) trip to Manado and Lembeh Straits this coming term break(Late Nov/Dec). Since it's a school group trip it'll be cheaper than usual. I'll keep u posted about trip details and costs when confirmed, most probably after the exams.

Cheers

Wyatt

Hi all,

have already received the details for the manado trip organized by NTU. It's about 939 for 5d4n (10 dives) staying at barracuda resort at manado. It's about SGD 100+ more expensive than last year because of fuel surcharges and increases in prices i guess.

There's another trip organised for NTU students going to bali 2-6 dec. 530 for the diving package (9 dives). Airtiks are about 275 plus 90 in taxes by SQ if there's a group of 4.

Right now i'm leaning towards bali or organising my own trip to lembeh at Sulawesi Dive Quest. V basic accomadations but cheaper. Cost for 6d5n (12/13 dives) should be around SGD 1100?

Any folks out there interested or want any more details can pm me.

Cheers,

Alvin

Hi All,

I stayed at Barracude Dive Resort - it´s a nice one.The meals are simple but ok and you will be positive suprised about the accomondations. There are several quite big indonesian style bungalows - very nice. The only think you won´t find there is a beach were you can go for a quick swim.

have a nice trip

Hi Alex,

I agree with you on your comments on Barracuda Dive Resort. I was there last Dec. I got a splendid view (looking across the bay) every morning when I wake up, directly  from my balcony.

By the way, have they upgraded their dive boat(s). The last time I was there, we were using this 20-25 footer green fibreglass boat (with a sort of catamaran hull) without toilet facility. So its a bit tough for the ladies.

But I had a great experience there diving with this operator. I had my ticket book for Manado this coming Dec. but I am not sure whether I will dive with them as it depends on the dive group. But if I will be the only one going, I'll will go back to Barracuda.

Edward

Hi Edward,

during my stay at Barracuda we have not used the fiberglas boat you have mentioned but I have seen them still operating. We have used this typical indonesian style long wooden boats - but also without toilet.

ALRIGHT - here we are - ;) ;)

I always enjoy discussions about toilets - you always come back to that topic. Recently I have had a long discussion about airplane toilets - aren't they great. But - hey - let's better stop here, or ahh - maybe not, let's think about a vacum toilet on a ....

I find it true it’s so hard to believe.

Lembeh Strait in AMAZING! and so do Bunaken Marine Park!

The experience I had in North Sulawesi is absolutely wonderful.

2 weeks with Bakri Cono Resort giving me unforgettable moments of fun during my holiday.

They serve me with warmth hospitality. I really love the service, even more for the meals... Yummy!

Lembeh Strait and Bunaken Marine Park is the best site ever for diving.

So happening!

I met thousand of mysterious creatures in Lembeh Strait on my muck diving, and in Bunaken I met a variety of fish and other marine life including, napoleon wrasse, angelfish, turtles, blue ribbon, stingrays, groupers, sharks, and many more.

I definitely will return to this place again on my next holiday to come. Hopefully it’s gonna be soon.

And to all of you scuba diving lovers I highly recommended you to give a shot. You won’t regret it!
