Hi

Been diving for 4 years with most of my diving experience in Australia and Vanuatu.

Am finally stationed back in Singapore.

Was wondering what's the diving like in Singapore and the surrounding nearby areas? (ie: day trips & weekend trips)

Would love to finally dive in local waters here! Wink [;)]

Any recommendations good people?

Hi Knightfall,

so far I was not yet diving in Singapore waters but you can do it at sisters island and pulau hantu. I have just heard from people done this that the visibility is very poor - something at around 1-2m. But I guess diving there at least once- just to try it out should be quite fun.

Nice diving you can find around Tioman, Dayang or Pulau Aur - all nice for weekend trips. If you would like to go further up, maybe over a long weekend Pulau Redang and Tengol is always a good choice.

Just check it outWink [;)]

Hi ya,

If you have dived singapore, you can dive anywhere in the world, as there's no place as bad as the waters here. bad vis aside, actually the reef life around certain southern islands are not too bad actually. but i think most operators will just dive around hantu. If you ever dive in hantu, the best spot is arounf the jetty area, there are some pretty nice nudis to spot. The only way to spot stuffs here is to keep close to the bottom, but watch your fins as you might just be contributing to the bad vis by finning into the sand.

Well for weekend diving, we are blessed to have tioman and dayang just hours away from home... sometimes i feel like it's my own back yard playground. Much of the diving there is just depending on your luck for calm waters, good vis and comfortable journey to and fro, other than that a good company for the weekend does helps too. I always enjoy going to either island as i feel every dive is a different experience for me. Well  hope you'll enjoy your dives to come.
